Examining Hoodia Efficacy For Weight Loss

Hoodia is a weight loss supplement, not a weight loss program There are a lot of vendors making great claims about how great hoodia is as a weight loss supplement. But it is hard to find any information about hoodia efficacy for weight loss. Many people report that hoodia has helped them lose both their appetite and their thirst. There seem to be too many reports of this for them to be wrong. But could this just be a great propaganda scheme put out by hoodia supplement sellers that is causing enough placebo effect to get many people to attest to hoodia efficacy for weight loss?

First of all, even if the reports are true about hoodia as an appetite suppressant, just eating less food will not necessarily lead to weight loss. Weight loss requires more calories to be burned than are ingested. If you simply eat less, your body will start to burn less. You need to exercise, in addition to eating less, in order to make long-term weight loss possible.

But as to whether this is all just hearsay, it should be noted that unlike most other supplements, hoodia efficacy for weight loss has been put to scientific study. Many people on weight loss programs are also using supplements. According to the British pharmaceutical company Phytopharm, their studies have concluded that there is some hoodia efficacy for weight loss, but only the specific species hoodia gordonii contains the key ingredient that has been found to show hoodia efficacy for weight loss.
