Don't Use Abdominal Exercise Machines To Get A Six Pack
Developing a set of great looking abdominals doesn't just happen, it takes workouts, the right exercises and the right diet to make it all come together. But what part can ab workout machines play? Are they worth it? Could they help or slow down your progress? That's what this post will explore, and you might be surprised with the results.
Why isolated Exercises aren't as good
Working out with an abdominal machine isolates the abdominal muscles from the rest of the body. While the infomercials for some of the gadgets that have come out in the last decade position them as the end all be all to get 6 pack abs how ever it's unfortunately quite far from the truth. Ab machines might build up very strong abdominal muscles, but you will struggle with a six pack? Why? That's what we'll talk about next.
Percentage Body Fat is Causing the Problem
You could have the strongest abdominals in the world, but if you do not have a body fat percentage of 10-12% you're won't be able to see the those glorious abdominal muscles. There is usually a thin layer of belly fat covering over our abs of even the fittest folks in the world. To have success you must combine abdominal training with fat burning workouts to lose abdominal fat before you can start showing off your sexy mid section.
The Abdominal and Belly Fat solution
Avoiding using those abdominal exercise machines is the first step. The second step is getting into workouts that don't just build lean muscle but they'll actually help you burn fat. Not so fast, don't just run to the treadmill for a thirty minute Cardio workout. A much better choice, and an option that isn't quite as boring, is doing multi joint exercises.
So what exactly are multi joint exercises? Think dead lifts, lunges or any exercise that requires you to move around while move weight. This type of exercise works more then just an isolated area of your body and will help you burn fat all over your body and not just in the area you're exercising.
