You will need to note the foods that you eat so that you can keep track of vital vitamins and nutrients that you may not be getting in your normal daily diet. For instance if you are not typically prone to eat fruits and vegetables then you may not be getting nearly enough Vitamin C which can help to ward of certain illnesses such as colds and the flu. You may also be lacking in beta-carotene and potassium, which are also important for overall good health. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, grains and low or non-fat dairy products will give you the vital nutrients that you need to maintain your good overall health, lower your risk for many diseases and medical conditions and generally just make you feel much better overall.
It is important to remember that healthy eating is not dieting. It is simply taking better care of your body. Learning the basic food groups, what is included in each and the serving sizes that are required each day, will ensure that you receive all the vital nutrients and vitamins that you need to promote overall good health, making you look and feel your best.
