The Necessity Of Healthy Living After A Lap Band Procedure

You have now reached your goal! After months or maybe even years of planning and weighing all the information you've decided to go for the lap band. It feels wonderful while taking the first step to change something in your life from bad to good. Having said that,the lap band surgery is not sufficient on its own to help you in getting to the desired weight. If you wish to succeed, you will need to take control of regular exercising and making the necessary changes in your food habits. In the journey from flab to fab, the following couple of points need to be considered.

One- IT REALLY IS ABOUT THE FOOD, EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT.

If you do not eat you will not get fat. We gain weight from eating things that we should not. Eating things in excessive quantities is more relevant here than eating specific items that shouldn't be eaten. Before surgery our main priority is to vow to ourselves that we will make the needed changes in diet and lifestyle to achieve what we've set out to do. What in tarnation was that about? To lose weight.

2. EXERCISE IS IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE, LAP BAND OR NOT.

Plain and simple, most of us don't like exercising. Overweight people tend to not enjoy exercise, but when opting for the lap-band procedure you might as well go the extra mile (pun intended!). Start with something you really enjoy doing,start slowly. The most effective method of exercising to begin with is walking. It's easy to use and inexpensive. With a good pair of shoes and a positive attitude you can walk off more than pounds. If it's dancing you like, go for it. You should dance a little bit everyday to some of your favorite dance music. As you begin to feel stronger and more energy, plus in resistance training to your routine. Just start out doing a little of what you like everyday. Make it part of your routine, and as soon you do it will be missed if you happen to skip a day.

3. ATTITUDE IS PART OF THE SOLUTION, DON'T FORGET THAT!

Once you have a diet and exercise plan, the final element to reach your goals is having a good attitude. Our attitude, the way we feel about something is a major player in our long-term success. Rewards are key to getting results. Every morning when you get in front of your mirror and start your morning routine, tell yourself that this day you will keep your promise to yourself and do all the things you know you need to do in order to achieve your weight loss goal. Realize that even though you have a lap band it's ultimately u and your attitude that goings to help it do it's job. No one else, only you can do it.

Four- IDENTIFYING SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO YOU

Your support group is important whether you have a lap band or not. Placing positive people in our lives will help us better achieve our goals. Being able to have fun and be around people you enjoy being with it a major plus. The further you be in motion the extra you drop and when friends ask to go, just go. Let your friends and family know exactly what you hope to achieve and enlist their support. There will be those who will make an attempt to sabotage you and the moment you realize who are they,you should shy away from them till you think that you can refuse them for their poor eating habits.

What you have accomplished, what you are working on, it is purely for yourself. You made the decision to get the lap band, you've got it now and it's up to you to do everything that you can to reshape not only your body, but your eating habits, exercise routines, attitudes and sometimes friends. Everything needs to work together for your overall good. Remember your time is valuable, so put in the effort to make your efforts productive. Maybe one day in the future you might be able to help someone else also find success. Celebrate what you have become!
