By lifting lighter weights, you can strengthen your muscles and ligaments without overstraining them. You have to be careful that you don't overdo it when you exercise during pregnancy. The relaxin your body secretes while pregnant will make you more susceptible to muscle strains.
No matter how you do it, it's important that you exercise during pregnancy. It can help you stay strong, and avoid many of pregnancy’s discomforts and aches and pains. You will just have to be flexible with your workout plans; you may not be able to do as much exercise during pregnancy, or push it as hard as you were used to.
